Presidency makes u-turn about fuel subsidy.

No plans to remove fuel subsidy – Presidency THE Presidency, Thursday in what appears to be a U-turn, reversed its earlier plans to remove fuel subsidy, just as it said that the federal government was not nursing sucha move and the issue not on its table. In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe, only a government that has no good plans for its people will take such a decision, adding that the president and the government were not insensitive to the plights of Nigerians. The statement read, "Contrary tothe speculation in the media and assumption by certain groups within the polity, we wish to state categorically that, the removal of oil subsidy is not on the table of the Transformation Agenda of the President. "The statement made by President Goodluck Jonathan at the recent Economic Summit held in Lagos was a frank, intellectual and well articulated contribution by the President to the discussion on the Nigerian Economy at the said Summit, and it was from a honest and sincere leadership perspective.
